Querido Familia y Amigos:
Take time to listen to the song below. It's inspiring!
We begin our days with walks to the surrounding areas and follow with our couple story and scripture time. This continues the tradition we started when Shawn and Kristi were very little. First we have a story. Here that consists of a 3 minute film on a gospel topic. That's how I learned that there is a 2015 Theme Song for missionaries. We follow this with reading the scriptures and lesson material for Sunday School and Priesthood/Relief Society classes. Ending? Scripture Power: we take 10 minutes to review scriptures we have or are memorizing. Dad inspires me to try in Spanish as well as English. This is challenging when there are so many small words I don't know.

Art Corner: We should all see a shift in my drawing. I'm studying composition.
Once again, I am testifying that the Lord knows us personally and helps us when we need it. See this week's story under the Smokey Bear drawing below.

Last week I had some dizzy spells that sent me to the hospital to be checked. The consensus was that I'm not drinking enough, so up went the ounces of water and liquids I drink. That didn't stop the problem, however. Tuesday night, I was sitting across from the bear Dad gave me for Valentine's Day. We put Dad's well-used Aussie hat on him and call him Smokey. Out of the blue, I began singing the Smokey song:
Smokey the bear, Smokey the bear,
Prowlin' and a-growlin' and a-sniffin' the air.
He can find the fire before it starts to flame.
That's why we call him Smokey; that was how he got his name.
I had the impression to go to Dr. Castillo for consultation, that he would be like Smokey, putting out fires before they get out of control. While I was in his office the next day, I told him about the incident. He chuckled and told us he likes challenges.
Early the next morning we went to TechniScan by the temple for blood work and an MRI. The tests show nothing much out of the ordinary. They did show what it isn't, like blocked arteries to my brain, low sodium, hormone issues. MRIs are quite an experience, somewhere between "Twilight Zone" and "Star Wars," which means they are noisy and weird. Fortunately, I know enough Spanish to be able to comply with directions.
In the meantime, I'm changing my diet again to more raw foods. Another thing the doctors want me to do is lose the rest of the weight I've been carrying for far too long. If the dizziness and weakness continue, I'll be back in the good doctor's office again.
